Comfortable Accommodations: Our accommodations feature both king and queen-sized beds adorned with premium linens, fluffy down comforters and pillows, ensuring a night of luxurious comfort. Each room boasts an en suite bathroom equipped with hair dryers, high-pressure showers, and heated towel racks, alongside extra-large bath sheets, high-end toiletries, and cozy terry robes for your relaxation. To enhance your stay, sitting areas provide a cozy nook for unwinding. The entire property benefits from HEPA Air Filtration, ensuring optimal air quality, and employs geothermal air conditioning and heating, underscoring our commitment to environmental sustainability.

Unique Room Features: Select rooms at our inn are outfitted with contemporary comforts, including high-pressure waterfall showers, deep-soaking tubs, and bubble-jet/Jacuzzi tubs, enhancing your relaxation experience. For those chilly evenings, enjoy the warmth of our gas fireplaces (available seasonally). Our larger rooms, perfect for those needing to telework, come equipped with small work desks and seating areas. Every room features ceiling fans and in-wall electrical outlets for both standard and USB plugs, ensuring your devices are always charged. Additionally, some rooms boast SmartTVs, allowing you to stream your favorite content using your personal accounts.

Gourmet Breakfast: Savor the flavors of our exquisite breakfasts, meticulously crafted by our in-house culinary maestro, Chef Eric. With a keen eye for accommodating dietary needs and preferences, Chef Eric presents a lavish 4-course gourmet breakfast, allowing you to select your preferred entrée, sides, and indulge in freshly baked breads and pastries. We take pride in serving Rise-Up Coffee, a distinguished independent organic coffee roaster known for its small-batch quality. Our commitment to freshness is evident in our locally sourced produce and eggs, straight from the backyard, culminating in a unique and award-winning breakfast experience each morning.

Guest Common Areas: At the Hummingbird Inn, guests are invited to enjoy the charm and comfort of our multiple common areas, designed for relaxation and socializing. Inside, the Victorian Guest Parlor awaits, featuring an antique Chickering Grand Piano for those musically inclined, a selection of books and games for leisure, and a small art gallery showcasing local art available for purchase. For more intimate gatherings, our second and third floors offer cozy lounges and seating areas perfect for reading or relaxing. Outside, our iconic 1,000 square foot wrap-around porch, famous for its social ambiance, is equipped with a built-in Bose sound system playing a diverse selection of music, complemented by fans and heaters to maximize comfort. The inn’s gardens, meticulously designed and maintained by Good Earth Gardeners, feature our tranquil Victorian Garden. Here, guests can unwind among tables and lounge chairs, be soothed by the sounds of an Italian tiered fountain, and enjoy soft music from our Bose outdoor sound system. The garden’s centerpiece, a century-old weeping cherry tree, provides a natural canopy, while bistro lighting creates an enchanting atmosphere for after-dinner relaxation.

Additional Amenities: The Inn provides a refrigerator and microwave for guest use located in the Guest Dining Room, and unique touches such as early morning coffee service, a wrap-around porch equipped with fans and heaters to accommodate all weather conditions, and communal and private breakfast tables​​.

Guest Bicycles: We are pleased to offer our guests the complimentary use of three Inn bicycles, perfect for exploring the charming Easton area. Known for its wonderful biking opportunities, Easton boasts flat terrain that makes for easy and enjoyable rides. To enhance your cycling adventure, we provide bicycle maps available at the front desk. Whether you’re looking to leisurely explore the scenic surroundings or embark on a more ambitious journey, our bicycles are a fantastic way to see the best of what Easton has to offer.

History

The house at 14 N. Aurora Street, now the Hummingbird Inn, was built in 1887 when May Price owned the property. The house was built in the Queen Ann, Victorian style that was popular during the late 19th Century.  Aurora Street was known as the “Silk Stocking District” of Easton because it was home to many notable businessmen, politicians, and philanthropists. The term “Silk Stocking” referred to someone or an area of great wealth as only the wealthy could afford silk stockings.

The house has held a prominent place in the town of Easton since it’s construction with several notable and prominent owners over the years.  This included a member of the Maryland State Senate and county delegates as well as highly successful businessmen and medical offices in the mid-1970’s until it’s first inception of a Bed & Breakfast in 1987.
